We hope that everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We spent
Thanksgiving over with our daughter in Le Roy, NY. Got back home in
time for the Chapter gathering but then I managed to catch a bug and
had to leave early. Thanks to Rico & Lori for taking over and
running the meeting.
In November, Rico & Lori and us went to the officer meeting in
Columbus. We learned a few more things and found out some of the
information that we needed in order to complete our ride schedule
for 2012. The ride calendar is being handed out at the Chapter
Christmas Party. The calendar is not written in stone except for
some of the events that are being held on specific dates (such as
District, Chapter fund raisers & etc).>>>>>>>>Continued

It isn’t too early to start thinking of all the stuff lying
around not being used. We’ll be having a garage sale in July (thanx
to Carl & Janice for donating a spot on their lawn for the Stony
Ridge garage sale) and donating all proceeds to charity. We’re
working on getting a list of local charities for the Chapter to
choose from and will have that ready for the next meeting.>>>>>>Continued

10 tips for winter driving and
skid control
Bill Ross / AP file
Winter driving can be dangerous, but following the following
10 tips can go a long way toward keeping you safe.
By Mark Sedenquist Travel columnist Tripse
A San Francisco man was found dead Wednesday nearly two weeks after
getting stranded with his family in the snowy Oregon wilderness.
James Kim's wife and kids, thankfully, were rescued from their car,
but Kim set out on foot days before to seek help for his family.
This story gained national attention and underscores just how
dangerous winter driving can be. The months between November and
March constitute one of the busiest road trip seasons. Snowbirds
(people with summer homes in northern states from Idaho to Maine)
head south in numbers large enough to give a crucial economic boost
to the Sunbelt, especially California, Arizona and Florida. Add in
winter sports enthusiasts, business travelers, holiday vacationers,
foreign visitors and students, and it’s easy to understand why
America’s highways are jammed even when temperatures plunge and
driving conditions can be challenging.>>Continued
